I have observed also for some time that MAP decisions have not penetrated the C-suite, except for SMBs under $25mm. Also, MAP has not taken off in non-tech industries. Until it does (if it does ever), the predictions for the segment taking off seem dubious.Henry Brucehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02408543911642983875noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34368959.post-58694698704329407902010-12-23T09:04:10.785-05:002010-12-23T09:04:10.785-05:00Nice write-up David - I am also surprised at price...Nice write-up David - I am also surprised at price/size relative to Teradata - Does this mean there is another transaction pending?
SAS angle adds interesting dimension but that combines 3 slow moving sales and marketing organizations.

Your "buyer profile" is on the money: "The existence of C-level buyers for marketing systems is not yet proven, and I remain a bit of a skeptic" - remember Siebel? - The same argument was made against C-Level CRM buyers - but an enormous sales and marketing push created an industry.

Time to go to the CxC Matrix http://bit.ly/h2bh92 and see how Teradata, Oracle, IBM http://slidesha.re/fivFnC stack-up - also need to look at service providers Acxiom, Epsilon/ACS, Merkle, agencies and maybe even RightNow and interaction vendors ( include Amazon and POS networks to calculate who delivers highest cumulative return across customer interactions.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05955531847841440620noreply@blogger.com
